Get the parent's blogging!!!

Okay everyone, this is a campaign! A campaign to get my parents blogging!

As I said in a previous blog, our family is about to be spread all across Ontario, and it pretty well sucks. But it's for good reasons.

Okay, a little history... My sister and I grew up in London Ontario with our parents. We became adults, graduated, got jobs. My job took me to Niagara for a few years, Chantelle's took her to Toronto (okay so it was actually Oakville, then Mississauga but it's all the same thing really). So we were kind of forced to abandon the nest and leave Mom and Dad all alone in London. This was tough since our family is so close but they were the right moves to make and we were all happy in our respective cities. The nice thing was that Niagara and Toronto are only about two hours away from London so we were able to visit home often.

Well, work just brought me back to London finally in October of 2006. I found a great, beautiful apartment in the best part of London (go Masonville!!!!) and it was right around the corner from my parents (0.4 kms to be exact). Couldn't be more perfect. Well, around the same time, my Dad was offered a two year contract with work in Ottawa (well, Ottawa area, far away nonetheless). So tough times again. I finally come home and the parents run away. Think they're trying to tell me something? Nah!!!

So, in a whirlwind, off Dad goes to Ottawa while Mom stays to sell the house and prepare to move and this Friday, they officially move. Instead of the two hours driving to visit, it's now six!! Plus, Chantelle and Adam, Mom and Dad, and I are all really busy right now in our lives so leaving for a weekend is not always possible. Chantelle had the original idea to start a blog so family and friends could stay in touch and that's why I recently started my blog. The goal now is to convince my parents to become Bloggers as well so that we can keep up on what's happening in their lives and continue to see Holly and Peewee grow!

So if you think that Mom and Dad, aka Mr. & Mrs. T should start their own blog, post a comment here! I'll add them up, compile them in a report and prove to my parents that it's a great thing to do. So help out the family, vote for a parental blog!!

24, Survivor, American Idol, what's your favorite?

Well, for me actually, most of those current running shows are recorded on my PVR in the hopes I can catch up after tax season. I don't really get a lot of time to watch TV during tax season. Nature of the business and I do it willing (hey, it's only four months of my year! The rest is easy going).

Jingle however is a MAJOR couch potato. And I don't just mean she'll sort of pay attention to the TV, she cries at it until I turn it on for her. Needless to say, I've become very accustomed to the background noise in the living room while I'm working in the office. It's too the point where if I turn on the TV, no matter where Jingle is hiding, she runs to the TV to see if it's something she likes. She then either squats in front of the TV and watches the whole show, or goes back to her nap somewhere.

Jingle does have her favorite shows. She loves 24, especially if I turn on the surround sound. She is really getting into Dancing With The Stars. I think its the good music and bright colours whizzing around the screen. All three CSI's are a top choice also. She's not a big fan of reality shows though. Finds them boring.

But more than anything, she loves movies. Disney movies are a big one, her favorite there being Finding Nemo (nothing like adorable brightly coloured talking fish to amuse a cat!). She really enjoys The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy and will actually sit through the whole 4 hour extended version (although she may leave for a pee break, small bladder you know). She even paws the screen when there is a close up of Legolas! Did the same with Pirates of the Caribbean too and almost any Ewan McGregor movie she paws him. A cat after my own heart.

Her ultimate favorite TV viewing experience to date though, HARRY POTTER!!! Just like her Mommy, only worse. I do love the Harry Potter movies but any movie will grow a little old if watched constantly. How constantly do you ask? Well, just about every night for the past year and a half I have to put on a Harry Potter movie in the bedroom while I fall asleep. Yes, I said have to.

You see, Jingle insists on sleeping on the bed with me (sorry in advance to my future, currently unknown husband!). But she likes to fall asleep to the TV, thus, Harry Potter, every night. It gets better though. I set the TV timer to turn off every night (hey, I'm energy conscious!) and if it turns off before Jingle has fallen asleep, she'll cry and paw me until I wake up and turn it on again!

I know this sounds far fetched, but family will know. This is true! I have tried not putting the movie on and after a few minutes, Jingle gives up crying and leaves the bedroom. I won't see her all night. So I cave, and watch the movies every night.

Here's some proof if you still don't believe me (yes, that's a chipmunk and Finding Nemo)

MEOW!!!!!
*Sigh* Yes, Jingle I'm heading to bed, and I'll put on your movie... Goodnight folks!

I'm a Cyborg?

So I'm browising my sisters wonderful blog (shameless plug in 3, 2, 1, .... http://sixthandelm.blogspot.com/) and she had this post about a website where you type in your name and you become a cyborg! Well, something like that. Check it out at http://cyborg.namedecoder.com

Anyways, I thought I would check it out and ran my name and Jingle's. Well, mine was pretty boring (I think you need a long name for this to be effective) but I like my "picture".

Jingle's however, well, anyone who has a cat will know this is perfect for most cats but anyone that knows Jingle, this is her to a tee eh?!

So what kind of Cyborg are you?

I'm in trouble again!

Oh, I did it again, I got in trouble. Mommy came home for lunch and saw what I did and this time got pretty upset with me.

Let me explain. See, Mommy works hard and is usually gone all day. It's nice to have the peace and quiet and sunshine to nap and tan but sometime I get a little bored. I realized when I was young (well, younger) that it was really fun to drop my toys in my water bowl. They made these funny little splashes and I could push them around the water with my paw. It keeps me amused. And the little plastic springs are no fun, it has to be the soft plushy toys. Well, this has continually gotten me in a little hot water (no pun intended) with Mommy because the plushy toys tend to soak up most of my water. Mommy would fill my water, leave for work and then come home at night to find only an inch of water left in my bowl and a fat, soaked, fake mouse. I admit, I feel bad that Mommy almost always has a toy on the kitchen sink to dry and some of the toys I've done this to haven't survived drying. Mommy got me a kitty water fountain in the hopes that it would stop my antics but instead, I clogged up the motor and it died. So I'm back to a bowl.

Well, today I made a big mistake and because of it, Mommy was mad at me. I dropped a mouse in my water again but I forgot it was a Catnip mouse and it started to turn my water this awful brown colour throughout the day. And I tried to drink some water after and it was so gross! Let me tell you, catnip infused room tempurature water is not pleasant. So thankfully Mommy came home for lunch today. I was so thirsty by this time and she cleaned out my bowl, set the mouse by the sink to dry and gave me fresh water but she still wasn't happy.

She's back at work now but when she gets home I'm going to give her a big snuggles (that's what we call our hugs and kisses) and I know she won't be mad after that.

Maybe I've learned my lesson from this. It wasn't fun not having water and she always leave the toilet seats down and never leaves glasses out so I was getting pretty desperate. But then again, it's still so much fun! I guess we'll just have to wait and see!

Wow, Day One!

Look Mom! I entered the world of Blogging finally!

Well, it was about time I decided to keep up with the real world and learn a new internet craze. Plus, I felt I finally needed a way to better celebrate my pride and joy, my sweet little girl, Ringo Jingle Bells (see blog name!).

So let me tell you about my little girl Jingle. She's just shy of 7lbs. About a foot and a half long, about to turn two (on April 24th), and as soft as can be.

Oh, did I mention that she's a miniature tabby cat? And she's featured above! Ain't she cute!!

Yes, yes, another cat crazy nut! Well, actually, I more felt that I should start a blog because in a few days, my family (aka my best friends) are going to be spread from London, Ontario, to Mississauga, to Ottawa. It's only for a few years but until we are all back together, I thought a blog would be a great way to let the family know what's happening in my end of the world.

So the blog name came about because I couldn't really figure out what to name the blog (how do you name blogs?) and while burning a few brain cells on this ponder, my dear little cat jumped up on my lap. I took it as a sign.

So welcome all to my blog! I'm going to try to keep this updated often and keep you informed on my life, my ramblings, my cat, and my end of the world (otherwise known as London, Ontario).
