Jingle's favorite toy!

You know, since this page is really meant to be about my crazy ramblings or Jingle's wonderful kitty thoughts, I thought it was about time to tell you about Jingle's favorite toy.

This Christmas my boss, John, and his wife, Karen came over with Ellie, their dog. Ellie was new to their family at the time and it was the first time that Jingle, Holly and Peewee got to meet her. They really got along well and the cats and dog even went as far as getting each other Christmas gifts.

Ellie was very thoughtful and got a Christmas bag full of a variety of toys that the three cats could share and enjoy. In that bag was this adorable fuzzy green ball, the same colour as my car, and Jingle immediately grabbed it and ran away with it. It was an adorable sight to see since the ball is the same size as her head but boy, did she love it!

During the rest of the holidays, Jingle continued to dominate this toy and Mom, Dad, Holly, Peewee and I all decided that it was definately one of the toys Jingle should keep.

Now Jingle has many toys, and most of them she plays with often but this toy in particular I find everywhere in the apartment. If I go to the bathroom, Jingle runs for the toy then jumps up on my lap until I'm done, happily chewing on the ball and sometimes my legs the whole time. If I have a bath, she grabs her toy then curls up with it by the tub until I get out. She sleeps with it between her arms during the day and lately, every morning I wake up with it by my head. She takes it to the litter box with her too. Leaves it carefully by the door and then grabs on her way back. If I try to pick it up, she comes out of nowhere and takes it back (even if I was just picking it up to take it to her).

It is also the one toy that Jingle has that has never made it into her water bowl. I know that may sound strange to you but to me, it just says how much she loves it.

Needless to say, with all the attention the toy gets, it's starting to look rough. This once adorably furry green ball with little ribbon loops has been pulled apart, ripped, stretched out. To show how much love a cat can have for a toy, I thought I'd give you all a picture of it's current state.

I think this intrigues me so much because we all had a toy when we were kids that we couldn't part with and I'm sure for most of us, we still haven't parted with them. For me, it was Pillow and Blanket (who still resides on my bed). For my sister it was Buddy (who I believe sleeps between her and her husband, Adam). To see that the same love can be had by a cat is charming and since Jingle is my little girl, I think it's a toy I will never get rid of. No matter how ripped up it gets, how many pieces it winds up in, I will always keep that toy as a memory.

Enjoy,

Tia

Mommy's little helper.

So you all now that Mommy works a lot but now with the way she set up her home office, I can actually sit and help her.

She has this great filing cabinet now that is metal and cool and I love to climb up on it when Mommy is at her computer and watch her or watch the birds out the window. And when she needs something out of the cabinet, I just reach down and grab it for her!

She took a picture of me up there and I thought I'd show it too you all. It's actually a pretty good picture of me, even if I am a little camera shy...

So as Mommy's newest (and only) assistant, here in a lovely picture for you all.

Spiderman 3 is a hit!!

Okay, this could be just a post of ramblings to most of you since I think you need to be a pretty crazy sort of person to like all of those Comic Book movies but... I LOVE THEM!!!

So I stole my friends 10 year old daughter who loved the frist two movies and we went to go see it last friday. It was awesome. What an end to the trilogy. I hadn't seen many previews so I wasn't quite sure who the villans were supposed to be but low and behold.... two of my favorites!! Sandman, who is basically a great guy with a lot of bad luck and my favorite Spiderman villian of all, the evil, awful, pure Stan Lee genious of Venom!

Not to mention Venom was pretty hot too. Kind of a Topher Grace fan.

So for all of you that haven't seen it and even sort of enjoyed the first I definately recommend the third. In my opinion, the best yet! Fair warning though if you are going with kids, this part of the trilogy should have never been rated PG. It is considerably more violent and gory than the first two (doesn't bother me at all but I was feeling a little guilty that I had a ten year old girl with me). Although young Jessica loved the movie, no all kids are as mature as her s they may find it rough.

If you don't have kids or are leaving them at home, then I think you'll enjoy it. Besides, who doesn't enjoy the occasional film meant purely to show off the latest CG effects, great looking guys in tights or costumes with added muscle, some hot kisses, and some strange basic resemblance of a plot?

Cheers!

Party at my house!!!

Okay everyone, don't let mom see this post, but mommy is heading to Ottawa for a couple of days next week to visit Grandma and Grandpa and she said she trusted me to stay by myself!!! It's so great being two now. And she promised to take lots of pictures of Grandma and Grandpa's new place for me to see so I'll probably put some on the site for all of you!

So, anyway, since she trusts me so much, I'm having a party!!!

It's going to be so much fun so however wants to come, come!! Mommy just stocked the bar for all you grown up cats (I don't like the stuff, but maybe some of you do). And she has lots of CD's for us to listen to. I've just recently started to figure out how to turn the TV on and off (seems I just need to step on this little red button on the remote) so I'm sure I figure out how to get a cd going. And mommy has lots of movies for us to watch too.

Plus, if we all work together, I think we could even get the patio door open and BBQ dinner. I always wondered what my food would taste like BBQ'd. Mommy's always smells so good when she comes back in. Just no one try to jump off the balcony, okay?

Sadly, Holly and Peewee won't be able to come. Mommy will know something is up if she gets to their place and they suddenly leave but any other cats are welcome to come. Uncle Chuki, I'd love to see you there, besides, I probably need a grown cat to help me out in case things get crazy. And Ollie, I could sure use you to make sure things get crazy!!

So don't tell Mommy. Maybe she won't update the page until she comes back and by then, I'll have shown her that I can have friends over and not ruin anything so she won't be mad.

So no need to bring anything unless you have a favorite toy you just can't leave home without. But the bed is big and couches are comfy so lots of places to stay. We have lots of water since I can turn on the tap in the kitchen. We may have to put up with a crazy little box if lots of people show up but hey, we're all friends.

Oh, and mommy just stocked up on lots of chicken and fish and even bought shrimp so plenty of food (hope she makes money in Ottawa to refill her freezer...).

Can't wait to see you all!

What does Heaven taste like?

There are a few times in all our lives that we get that rare chance to taste "heaven". For me, I experienced it over the Mother's Day weekend.

I was lucky enough to have my parents come visit me from Merrickville over the weekend so that I could still see my Mom on mother's day (well, close to at least, the left saturday to see my sister in Mississauga and celebrate her birthday as well).

While they were here we decided one night to postpone dinner and check out the newest dessert place in my neighbourhood, the Marble Slab Creamery! I'm telling you, this place is sinful, but good. It's an ice cream shop that will customize your ice cream and make it fresh right in front of you. You can buy cones (homemade waffle cones to be exact), get your ice cream in bowls (for those afraid to drip on their clothes like I did) or order a quart to take home for later.

My parents shared a strawberry ice cream which was basically a delicious vanilla ice cream with the largest chunks of fresh strawberries I have ever seen. Me however, I decided that I was not going to care about calories, fat content, sugar, anything! I was going to enjoy my parents company, celebrate their visit and spoil us with a great dessert (which Dad promptly insisted on paying for, Thanks, Dad!). And my choice of ice cream was heaven wrapped up in a warm waffle cone. I had their signature "Peanut Butter Crunch" ice cream. Adam, you are going to love this one!

This delicious concoction consists of a base of deadly chocolate ice cream with Nestle Crunch Bars and Reese Peanut Butter Cups crushed inside. Well, they said crushed but it was more like peanut butter cups quartered. Huge chocolatey chunks, had to have been the equivalent of at least two full bars of the favorite candy. With hits of the great rice crispy snap of Crunch bars. It was insanely delicious. The only problem, every day since, I want to go back for more!!!!

So there was my little experience of a taste of heaven while enjoying my parents wonderful company. Hopefully by the next time they visit I can get a bed for the spare room and spare my couch! Can't wait to see you guys again, Jingle and I miss you already.

Happy Birthday Chantelle!!

My sister, as wonderful as she is, is definately a busy, busy person. With work, a husband, her friends and her online store (shameless plug in 3...2...1... sixthandelm.etsy.com), she barely has any time for herself which includes getting time to return phone calls. I'm not complaining, I admire her for how busy she keeps herself. But this has resulted in me, her darling wonderful sister, trying unsuccessfully 5 times to talk to her on the phone and wish her a happy birthday! I just can't seem to catch her at home and with my busy schedule also, it's tough to find time to even try to call (plus I've been trying to find out what she wants for a gift). And with living 2hours apart from each other, I can't just pop in and say "hi" either!

So, Chantelle, in the hopes you find a chance to read my blog late one night, I am attempting to give you your birthday wishes here, albiet a day late.

You know I love you, and you know Jingle loves you and with how you become more and more involved and busy, we just become more proud. You always will be one of my greatest, closest friends.

And we both wanted to be able to buy you the next and last Harry Potter novel for your birthday but no one can tell us if you have preordered it already so please drop me a line, let me know so I can get your gift to you too.

Love you much, hope to see you again soon!

Mommy's Gift

Mommy was working so hard during Tax Season that I thought it would be nice if I got her a gift to show her how much I love and how great a job she did. The only problem is, being a cat, I don't get much of an allowance.

So during the night, while she was sleeping, I snuck out of the bedroom and thought I would borrow her credit card to go get her something. I ran into a problem though, there were so many cards in her wallet! I don't know which one is actually a credit card. And they all have these strange black strips on the back. I found one card that has mommy's picture on it but I'm pretty sure that wasn't a credit card. There was one with a cat and dog on it that I've seen her use when she buys me food, that could have been one. There's also one she uses when she buys books at Chapters. Gee this is confusing.

So after pulling about a dozen cards out of Mommy's purse, I gave up. I did find some coins but not enough to buy her anything and I found a funny purple piece of paper with the number 10 on it too but I don't know what to do with that. I decided the purple paper needed to go in my water bowl.

So disheartenend and defeated, I left everything scattered and jumped back into bed. When we woke up this morning though, funny enough, Mommy was quite upset for some reason. I guess the purple paper really shouldn't have gotten wet and I guess teeth marks on the cards are not a good thing. I know she made a few phone calls today to ask the banks for replacement cards so I guess I broke something in the process. She wasn't really mad at me, I think she knew what I was trying to do for her but she was a little frustrated. At least she laughed a bit.

Oh well, maybe next time I'll find a better way to show her my love and thanks. Maybe some snuggles.

Holy Tax Season!!!

Phew! It's over! Tax Season is over.

Sorry to everyone for not posting for a while, the last few weeks have been non-stop, late nights and craaaazy! But that's the nature of tax season.

Jingle and I are back at least. I think Jingle is very happy that tax season is over. She's hardly seen me in weeks. She stopped coming into the office at night to see if I was heading to bed and just started going to bed without me even! But today, she was back to her old self, cuddly, talkative and cute as ever.

Jingle will post you all tomorrow with an update on herself but I just wanted to make sure you all knew I didn't fall off the face of the earth. We're alive, really!

Anyways, gotta hit the sack, but look for Jingle's post tomorrow and we'll keep this site up to date now (at least until next April we will).

Missed you all!
Cheers!
