Woohoo!

Wow, what a week!

Okay, so first! I GOT THE JOB IN OTTAWA!!!!

Yeah me!

Then, the week gets a little hard, because I left Jingle to vacation at Grandma and Grandpa's for a few weeks so that was hard. But, apparently she's having loads of fun and settling in nicely.

Then, last night, in class, I was voted by the class as the breakthrough presentation of the night!

Yeah me!

So just to explain the last one a little bit more, each week we vote on two people to gain recognition. First is the person to most effectively communicate. The second is breakthrough (which basically means, who stepped out of their comfort zone and bring the whole class with them). Last nights assignments were all based on enthusiam. We had to present two things where we used a great deal of enthusiams, to the point of exaggeration. Apparently I did well.

And as for the job, I'm very excited. It's a good job, position created for me (not one they had) and it's regular hours, steady pay, a nice change.

So there's my weekly WOOHOO!!!!

I've lost my mind!

Or maybe I finally found it! Not sure which. Club

But, I've gone and done it either way.

"WTF IS SHE TALKING ABOUT???"

Okay, okay, I'll explain! Yeesh people! Faint

What have I done? I've quit my job. And I'm moving.

You all know work has been rough lately. Not bad really, just that things aren't growing as fast as we all thought and I'm working too much. After a few months of not sleeping, working through most nights to get things done, and not making what everyone anticipated, I finally had a breakdown. I felt awful, tired, depressed, wipped out. I felt like, well, kinda like this.... Lava Lamp

So I quit! Done, bye bye, so long. And I really have no idea what I'll do next for a job, but I don't really care. I know I'm good at my craft, my family is supportive, I'm not worried.

So, to top it off, I'm moving, with Jingle. I'm uprooting my little girl and taking her away. We're heading to Merrickville. Invading Mom and Dad's basement, moving it all. Now, most parents would be all "crap, the kids are moving back in" but not our parents. In fact, it was their suggestion and seeing them doing so much better, I realized it might just be what I need to turn things around. Jingle will have her best friend back (Peewee) Kitty 7 and HollyKitty 4 might get a break. And, since we're going to be in the basement, Jingle can learn a new skill too. Cat And Mouse Tail Don't get me started, I'm trying not to think about it.

Plus, I'll have my best friends back. Dad DJ with his great music, always ready for a good time. Mom Reading with her calm demeanor, who loves to curl up on a couch and relax or read (usually with a Sudoku book in her hands). Not mention.... Spaghetti HOME COOKED MEALS!!!!!

And I've already told Chantelle and Adam and they seem excited. Chantelle Knitting knows how wonderful our parents are and knows I'll love being close to them again. And Adam Snappy would be supportive of anything really. He just loves us all, no matter what!

So, here's the official notice! Christmas 3D Santa will be at my place this year in London (you'll have to excuse the boxes because we're moving right afterwards) and it will be fun. Then off to a new life, a new start, dragging little Jingle with me. We have some resumes out in the Ottawa area now, I know something great will turn up. Just wish us luck! Cheers! Chugger

We need more time!!!

Phew! As if Jingle and I weren't busy enough with work. Now, we have more work and a weekly night class too! So this means that we have basically no time to blog.

But, we'll try to catch everyone up.

First off, Happy Thanksgiving to anyone I didn't talk to this weekend.

So yes, work has been crazy, still haven't had a holiday, but hopefully soon I will. But it hasn't been too bad. Work is good. Just need to keep plugging.

And I've started the Dale Carnegie course too. It's a leadership and management course. For the post part, the course is about communication. So each week, we do a series of small speeches and presentations. Not nescessarily about work, just in general. It's a really great course and I'm loving it. Each week the trainers really force you out of your comfort zone. But everyone is very encouraging and so you can't help but feel safe. You know that no matter what, you're not going to be judged and so you feel safe to say anything. So it has been wonderful.

And talk about small world too. Not only is there a wonder girl in the class who happened to attend St. Mary's school with Chantelle and I, who I haven't seen since grade 8 (she was a year behind me), but I found out there is a young man there too who is a friend of Tyler's, my cousin and another man my age who is best friends with Val's brother! I was a little scared at first knowing that these people knew me and considering how open we need to be in the course, but like the others, they are wonderful and completely non-judgmental.

And Jingle of course has been wonderful as always. She is still using the pillow on the bed as her new home, spending most of her nap time and the night there. It's still sweet but I'm still occassionally waking up to find she's turned around and I'm nose to butt with her. And other times, she decides she wants to get closer and move to my pillow and lay against my face. This is usually promptly followed by me waking up in a panic because I'm suffocating. But she means well. But in short. Just is just as happy and bubbly as ever. What a godsend in these stressful times.

So that's us, not really a whole lot to report and we've just been busy, but that is us nonetheless.

Hope everyone else is doing well. It looks like you all have been busy too. Chantelle, I love the new website, I'll get on to post a comment soon.

Love you all!

My little housekeeper...

So, I'm at a clients today, well three actually, and gone for maybe 4 hours total. I come home to do some work and find a pleasant surprise. My little Jingle is washing my floors.

Well, actually, it seems that the infamous water bowl (aka, toy to Jingle) has finally been tipped over. So now there's a big mess.

*Sigh*.

Rats, there goes my water bottle now too! I guess the carpet did need a shampooing, thanks for the reminder Jingle! Fantastic!

I'll catch you all later, my socks are getting wet, I should go clean this up.

Jingle becoming a blackjack dealer...?

So I'm at the BeanCounters monthly meeting and Charlie Regan, the owner (also the founder of Nerds On Site) turns to me and says "so when are you taking holidays and where are you going kid?" He always calls me kid. So I say, "hadn't really thought about it, figured I'd save the money this year, may take a few days, just relax".

He says, "if you could go somewhere, where would you go?"

"Well, I'd be great to visit my Grandma in Regina but it's been a couple years since I saw my cousins and Aunt and Uncle in Vegas and I really miss them".

Well stop the clock! Charlie, shocked by this comment? Nothing shocks Charlie!

"You have family in Vegas?" "Yes, great family, I love them dearly and feel very close to them." I didn't rattle off the names, it takes too long to say Bill and Sandy, Bill and Mandy and Paul and Brandy live there. And people get confused anyway. They just think I'm stuttering.

So Charlie thinks for a minute then decides that I need to take a vacation to Vegas, and I need to drive there, take the Smart Mobile into the states and let it be seen (the Smart Cars are still not in the US, not until 2008). I must take two weeks, because it's a 2 or 3 day drive, not enough time to relax if driving. Oh, and if I have family there, is there any chance of getting citizenship?

I stop for minute thinking, did I hear him right? "Uh, yes... " I stammer. "I believe my father is the next in line under the Grandfather rule and then my sister and I can get our citizenship".

Charlie's face lights up and he gets excited. "Great, call you Dad as soon as you can and get him working on it. And book the two weeks this year, BeanCounters will cover your gas if you take the smart car. Have some fun, but drive the car around Vegas, check out the response. Let me know how it goes".

And the meeting ends. John stayed behind a bit, talked to Charlie, who seeming lost his mind, and I cornered John later to ask him what was up. Aparently, when Charlie gets an idea, Charlie sticks to the idea. Probably a good thing for someone worth millions, terrifying for me. Charlie told me a long time ago that they were training me t manage a branch and we all assumed they meant Toronto/Niagara where I lived for stint, and area I know well. It seems that all this time, Charlie wanted me in the states and hearing that I had relatives in Vegas, thought that would be a great place to start. Pack me up, ship me to Vegas and start the first US BeanCounters on Site.

So now I'm excited and terrified. Partly because no one but Charlie knows for sure if this will happen and Charlie's not talking, and partly because, although I love Vegas, I'm not so sure I want to up and move. And can I get citizenship for Jingle.

It's all a little freaky and we'll keep you posted, but it's possible Jingle and I may be shipped to the desert. Good thing I didn't tell Charlie about the family in Phoenix. He just may have split me in two, one half for each state.

So just in case, Jingle is learning Blackjack in case we need some startup cash, and I'm brushing up on US History and Geography in case I need to wirte any citizenship exams.

And Bill and Mandy, can I crash for two weeks? I don't know when yet, but I will let you know!

Holy Tax Season!!!

Phew! It's over! Tax Season is over.

Sorry to everyone for not posting for a while, the last few weeks have been non-stop, late nights and craaaazy! But that's the nature of tax season.

Jingle and I are back at least. I think Jingle is very happy that tax season is over. She's hardly seen me in weeks. She stopped coming into the office at night to see if I was heading to bed and just started going to bed without me even! But today, she was back to her old self, cuddly, talkative and cute as ever.

Jingle will post you all tomorrow with an update on herself but I just wanted to make sure you all knew I didn't fall off the face of the earth. We're alive, really!

Anyways, gotta hit the sack, but look for Jingle's post tomorrow and we'll keep this site up to date now (at least until next April we will).

Missed you all!
Cheers!
Tia & Jingle
